Why You NEED to Consume Enough Protein & What Happens When You Do Not

Here’s what Happens When You DON’t Eat Enough Protein:

If you don’t eat enough protein, especially as an athlete, here’s what happens:

❌Not Enough Protein =

  • Increased risk of injury – Your body lacks the materials it needs to repair your muscle, tendon, and ligament tissue damage that occur naturally through training sessions.
  • Slower recovery – Soreness lasts longer, and performance in future sessions suffers because your body does not have what it needs to recover itself.
  • Muscle breakdown > muscle building – Your body may break down muscle for fuel or repair needs elsewhere…This is why without enough protein your muscles will not grow!! (Have your protein locked in consistently for 6 weeks, paired with a good weigh program & I guarantee you will see drastic gains!
  • Weaker immune system – Proteins are used to make immune cells, antibodies, and enzymes…meaning you more easily get sick.
  • Plateaued or stalled progress – You might train hard but see no size, strength, or speed gains if protein is missing.(Bro I promise…if you struggle to see gains, its because of the nutrition…Dial it in!)
  • Hormonal imbalance – Key hormones like growth hormone and testosterone are affected by low protein availability….(Both Huge in Building Muscle!)
  • Translation: If you’re not hitting your daily protein needs, you’re leaving real gains on the table — not just in the gym, but in speed, recovery, performance, and your long-term health!

Here’s What Happens When Proteins Dialed In:

✅Protein Dialed In =

When your protein is on point every day (Like it should be if you’re a serious athlete):

  • ✅ You repair and rebuild faster — less soreness, more muscle growth. (Because now your body has what it needs to do so…it’s literally just simple science)
  • ✅ You increase lean muscle mass and maintain it even in tough training phases. (Because once again your body now has what it needs to do so)
  • ✅ You boost metabolism (protein takes more energy to digest and keeps you full longer).
  • ✅ You support a strong immune system and healthy hormone production.
  • ✅ You maximize gains from training — both strength and speed-related.
  • ✅ You set the foundation for long-term athletic development.

Translation: When your body has what it needs, it can do what it’s designed to do. If you’re working hard but still having problems seeing gains in your strength, speed, and performance (I guarantee that this is probably the problem.)
